K.I.S.S. Rommel
LIBRARIAN'S SUMMARY
KISS Rommel is a forgotten gem from the early-2000s “fast play” movement in historical miniatures gaming. The game scales battles up to divisional or even corps command, with battalion-sized units and entire armored formations represented by only a handful of bases. The rules themselves openly declare their philosophy — “Keep It Simple Stupid!” — and everything in the design follows that creed: minimal bookkeeping, quick movement, broad tactical decisions, and a strong emphasis on mobility, supply, and recovery rather than combat charts. The result is a game that many old-school gamers remember fondly as an ideal “club night” campaign system capable of delivering the ebb and flow of Rommel’s desert campaigns. The original authored released the game for free on his game club's website decades ago.
