Tercios
LIBRARIAN'S SUMMARY
The "Brevis Edition" of Tercios is a streamlined set of Renaissance wargame rules to recreate large-scale battles of the Thirty Years' War. Derived from the larger Liber Militum: Tercios system, it focuses on commanding formations, using hidden order cards, and alternating activations. The rules emphasize battlefield spectacle and give Spanish tercios, Swedish brigades, cavalry, artillery, pikes, and firearms distinct battlefield roles. In 33 professionally-illustrated pages, this game offers a very accessible entry point into pike-and-shot gaming. The basing requirements and miniature scale are flexible enough to adapt most existing collections for use.
