Rules with No Name
LIBRARIAN'S SUMMARY
This freely available early edition of The Rules With No Name offers a fascinating glimpse at Bryan Ansell’s Wild West skirmish game before it evolved into the lavish hardcover published by Wargames Foundry in 2009. Even in this leaner prototype form, the core personality of the system is already unmistakable. Rather than striving for strict realism or tournament balance, the rules embrace the spirit of classic Western films and old-school British narrative gaming, encouraging memorable moments over simulation. Compared to the later hardcover edition, this earlier PDF is noticeably lighter, with less chrome, fewer optional rules, and zero illustrations. But it's still a fully playable gunfighting system, and 100% free.
